We were shown some digipaks of previous students:
This digipak is coherent and fits a pop theme, I think that the genre is clearly communicated as well as the name of the artist. However, I think that the track list is slightly hard to read due to the small font and the bright background.
This digipak clearly puts off the impression that the artist is playful, girly and poppy. However, I do think that there is a lot going on and not all of it necessarily goes together in terms of colour schemes as the front cover does not match the same shades as the inside and back covers.
I really like this digipak; I think it looks sophisticated and is very consistent with its colour scheme and imagery.
This digipak is very consistent with the theme and matches the artist's music video well. Personally, I think that it is quite busy but it does cohere with the artists persona.
This digipak clearly shows off a heavy metal rock band due to the font choice and consistent colour scheme. I think it is clear and I like the illustrations.
After researching into what a digipak should include as well as looking at which digipaks were the most effective, we started to create some initial drafts as to what our potential final digipak design could look like in the end. I firstly drew a rough draft and then created an online version:
After drawing a digipak and then translating it onto a more concrete design online, I was happy with the outcome. Although this digipak is unlikely to be our final outcome, we can take aspects from it. I like how I created a coherent colour scheme throughout my design as well as using the idea of a clock for the inside back cover where the cd is placed as it mimics the circular shape.
